With the exceptions of the Cleveland Lyke Wake Dirge , On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at and The Wensleydale Lad which are reproduced in full, the examples provided are partial extracts only. However, it is possible for readers to access the complete versions by referring to the sources, details of which are provided at the end of each section.
